Overview

Vinnya Jagat is a sprawling private theme park and integrated resort located in Ganjipur, Rangpur. Spanning approximately 100 acres, it serves as a primary recreational hub for the northern region of Bangladesh. The landscape is characterized by manicured gardens, artificial lakes, and a diverse range of sculptures, including recreations of global landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Pyramids. The park is divided into several zones, featuring an amusement park with thrill rides, a small zoo, and a planetarium, offering a varied experience for visitors of all ages.

The atmosphere is particularly vibrant during public holidays when families gather to enjoy the pedal boats and expansive picnic spots. For those seeking a longer stay, the site includes residential cottages set amidst greenery, providing a quiet escape from the urban center of Rangpur city. Whether you are wandering through the floral displays or exploring the miniature replicas of world wonders, the park offers a blend of leisure and whimsical artistry.

History & context

Vinnya Jagat was established in 2001 as a pioneering private initiative to boost tourism in the Rangpur Division. Before its development, the area was largely agricultural land. The park's creation marked a shift in the region's cultural landscape, introducing the concept of a multi-purpose entertainment complex to Northern Bangladesh. Over two decades, it has evolved from a simple picnic spot into a comprehensive resort, significantly contributing to the local economy and providing a rare space for environmental education and large-scale public gatherings in the district.

Getting there

From Dhaka, take a bus from the Mohakhali, Kalyanpur, or Gabtoli terminals heading toward Rangpur city; the journey typically takes 6 to 8 hours. Alternatively, fly from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Saidpur Airport, followed by a one-hour drive to Rangpur. Once in Rangpur city, Vinnya Jagat is located about 12 kilometers away in Ganjipur, easily accessible via local transport like auto-rickshaws or private cars along the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway.
